Day 1- Chiang Khong – Houeisay – Pakbeng (L,D)
Upon arrival at Houeixay border from Chiang Khong (Thailand), after crossing Mekong river, your Laotian tour guide will transfer you directly to the local pier. Embark on a traditional boat to Pakbeng. En route, stop over to visit Lao Lu at Ban Pak Tha and H’Mong village at Ban Houei Lumpane. Lunch on board.
Arrive in Pakbeng end of afternoon and transfer to the hotel.
Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Overnight at Pakbeng Lodge

Day 2- Pakbeng – Thasouang - Hongsa (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel.
Departure by boat to Thasouang (about 1h30 mn) then continue by car for 1h30 hour to Hongsa by local transportation and transfer to the Elephant Lodge. Start by the visit of Vieng Keo village, you can choose to walk for about 1h through rice fields and countryside (or on the way back) or go by car only. This Thai Lu village is famous for its beautiful weaving.
Lunch at hotel.
Afternoon take a 2 hours elephant ride through countryside and forest, an unforgettable experience. Back to the hotel.
Dinner and accommodation at Elephant Lodge.

Day 3- Hongsa – Thasouang - Pak Ou - Luang Prabang (B,L,D)
Early morning visit the colorful local market then back to hotel for breakfast. Transfer back to Thasouang by car and embark on the boat for the second leg of the cruise to Luang Prabang.
Lunch on board.
En route, stop over to visit sacred Buddha caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoume housing hundreds of Buddha statues.
Continue to Luang Prabang, arrive end of afternoon and transfer to hotel.

Day 4- Luang Prabang (B,L,D)
Breakfast at hotel.
Full day visit of the old city. Start your visit with Vat Vixoune influenced by Tai- Lu architecture and That Makmo, the watermelon shape stupa. Proceed to Vat Mai with its five tiered roof and exquisite carved veranda Take a walk in the old city and visit Vat Sene, the perfect place to pray or meditate.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Afternoon continue your visit with Vat Xieng Thong the most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang dating back from 16th century. The roofs of the Sim sweep low to the ground and glass colored panels adorn the walls of the chapels.
.Climb up to Phousi hill with its outstanding view over the city, its surroundings and the Mekong river.
Dinner and accommodation at hotel.

Day 5- Luang Prabang – Bangkok (B)
Breakfast at hotel
0800..Visit local fresh market and proceed to the national museum (the former royal palace)Transfer to the airport for departure to next destination (Vientiane, Bangkok).

The Elephant Lodge is a basic lodge, the best available hotel in Hongsa.
Rooms are basic with attached bathroom but not hot water.
