DETAIL ITINERARY:

Day 1: Saigon - Cai Be - Mang Thit - Tra On (L/D)

We’ll pick you up at 8:00 at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and take the private transfer to Cai Be. Board the Mekong Eyes at 12.30. Enjoy a welcome drink and get comfortable in your cabin with a great view through the panoramic windows. As lunch is served the Mekong Eyes starts cruising towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. Watch the flow of daily life on the Mekong, the sand and rice barges, the locals building boats on the wooden yards and drying tropical fruits.

The boat heads to Cai Nhum, a little town on the banks of the river Mang Thit. Disembark for a pleasant walk through the village life and the surrounding fruit orchards and rice fields.

Back on board, enjoy a drink at the bar or take a rest on the deck as the sun sets over the vast water landscape of the Delta. We continue to Tra On where the boat will anchor for the night. The day ends with a delicious on-board dinner.

Day 2: Cho Lach - Cai Rang Floating Market - Can Tho - Chau Doc (B)

Wake up well rested for another wonderful day of sightseeing. At 06.30 we set off for a sunrise cruise and an early breakfast.

After breakfast we will board sampan boats to visit Cai Rang floating market, one of the most lively floating markets of the Delta, with wonderful photo opportunities. Witness the fascinating scenes, the hustle and bustle of vendors and small boats laden with fruits. We will pull up to the merchants for talking and bargaining. Boat through the green water landscape to see local houses, verdant orchards and ship-building yards.

The boat trip ends at around 11.00 - 11.30 at Ninh Kieu pier in Can Tho. We’ll take the private car for the drive to Chau Doc, the border town of Vietnam with Cambodia by the Mekong River. The town is famous for its floating fish farming villages, floating markets and Cham villages, an ancient Muslim ethnic population with their kingdom covering Cambodia and south Vietnam during the 10th century. Located on the upper Mekong Delta, Chau Doc town is 280 km (174 miles) south-west of Ho Chi Minh City close to the Cambodian border. With such proximity to Cambodia, the local population is an eclectic mix of Cham, Khmer, Chinese and Vietnamese, sharing different cultures and historical richness.

Spend the night at hotel in Chau Doc.

Day 3: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh (B)

After breakfast, You are transferred to boat pier for departure to Phnom Penh by speed boat (leaving at 7.00 am, arrive Phnom Penh ~ 12.00). End of tour.

Note: Cambodia visa formalities take about 45 minutes at the border and Cambodian visas can be issued at the border.
