  • Day 01: Arrive Ho Chi Minh – Transfer to Hotel

    On your arrival in Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon, you are welcomed at the airport by our tour guide who will escort you to the hotel in the city centre. Free time to rest. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.


    Day 02: Ho Chi Minh – Cuchi Tunnels (B)

    In the morning, we will go to Hoc Mon district to visit the incredible underground Cu Chi tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. Back to the city for lunch your own lunch after 4 hours excursion. In the afternoon, visit War Museum, Reunification Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market for shopping. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

     

    Day 03: Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – Night Train to Nha Trang (B/L)

    Heading out of the bustling city, we ride along rice field to My Tho, one of Mekong Delta province. Upon arrival in My Tho, we embark on a boat navigating around the small canals in the delta region. Joining in with daily activities of local people and enjoy the atmosphere of water world along the canal and along the Tien river. The exciting cruise continue to Unicorn island, here you can taste many seasonal fruits and enjoy the local traditional music, performed by the islanders. Have lunch at a typical country garden house. Next stops are the coconut candy “mill” workshops and transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City for late flight to Nha Trang leaving around 23hrs. Overnight on the train in a private 2 person soft sleepers A/C cabin.

     

    Day 04: Nha Trang – Diving and Snorkeling Tour (B/L)

    The train arrives in Nha Trang around 5am, you are met at the train station for the transfer to the hotel to rest and having breakfast.

    8:00am: Start from your hotel to Cau Da port. Cruise to Mun & Mot islands, where you stop for diving & snorkeling around these islands. You can try 2 dives for the tour, which is 45 minutes per dive. The distance between 2 dives about 2-3 hours, depending on escorted diving instructor & guests’ health status. Light Lunch, tea, coffee will be served on boat after the first dive. Enjoy the panorama of the sea, the whole collection of live sea creatures in Nhatrang bay; especially view the beautiful live coral reefs at the sea bottom.  Car pick up & transfer back to the hotel. Tour ends around 4 pm. Free time to relax or do water sport like jetskiing, parasailing, surfing. Overnight in Nha Trang.

     

    Day 05: Visit Monkey Island & Free time for Water sports (B)

    Today, you have a half day tour in the morning of visiting the interesting Monkey island on Nha Phu Bay. Next to Nha Trang bay, Nha Phu bay creates another attraction to tourists. Monkey islands with wild animals, Orchid spring, Hang Tien beach, coral reef are the places we will go sightseeing. Do not hesitate to make friends with hundreds of lovely monkeys on Hon Lao island, and do not miss the funny animal show, play with elephants and ostriches. You really have precious time of relaxation. Return to the hotel at noon.

    Afternoon, free time to relax or do water sport like jetskiing, parasailing, surfing. Overnight in Nha Trang.

     

    Day 06: Nha Trang – Fly to Danang – Visit Hoian Town (B)

    Take the morning flight from Nha Trang to Danang VN1940 @08:10-09:25. On arrival, you are met and transferred to hotel in Hoian town. After a short rest, you will walk to visit Ancient Hoi An Town. The visit will includes Japanese covered bridge, some Chinese Assembly Halls, and some typical Vietnamese houses of 18 century. Overnight in Hoi An.

     

    Day 07: Hoian – Marble Mountain Descent Tour (B/L)

    8:30am: start from your hotel in Hoi An, and heads north along China beach to Marble Mountain. The drive takes about 30 minutes and the walk up into the rappelling area takes another 10 to 15 minutes.
    The First rappel is a short walk from the practice area and enjoys a fantastic view of the ocean. This 22 meter line has great exposure, fantastic scenery and makes you feel like you are much higher than you actually are.
    Our second rappel is down into one of the caves at Marble Mountain that was used as both a place of worship and a hideout for VC during the war. This rappel is about 15 meters down.

    After lunch we do the final rappel; a monster 50 meter drop into a gaping hole so deep and dark that you can’t see the bottom. This fantastic cave rappel drops right out of the jungle down into a temple chamber. Get ready for a full on Indiana Jones experience.

    Return to the hotel around 3pm. Free time to relax on the hotel pool or beach nearby. Overnight in Hoian.

     

    Day 08: Hoian – Cycling to Villages - Fly to Hanoi (B)

    Morning, start our biking trip to the villages nearby Hoian town. This bike trip through the countryside takes you through picturesque trails to an old pottery village, Tra Que vegetable village and a stop at a traditional lantern making shop. We see how pottery and lanterns have been made for generations, and at the local farm we prepare a meal from the produce that is grown. Return to the hotel at noon and free time.

    Late afternoon, transfer to the airport in Danang for the short flight to Hanoi VN1514 @15:35-16:45. On arrival, you are met and transferred to the hotel in city centre. Overnight in Hanoi.

     

    Day 09 : Hanoi City Tour (B)

    In the morning, you will visit Hochiminh’s Mausoleum, His House on Stilt, One Pillar Pagoda, one of the museums in Hanoi (Museum of History, Museum of Ethnology, and Museum of Fine Art). In the afternoon, more discover Hanoi with the visit to Van Mieu Temple and Quoc Tu Giam (our first national university) and enjoy one hour cyclo ride around Old Quarter. Stop at Ngoc Son temple for a short visit, then attending the Water Puppet Show at Thang Long Theatre. Overnight in Hanoi.

     

    Day 10: Hanoi – Cruising & Kayaking Halong Bay – O/N on Boat (B/L/D)

    After breakfast, you will leave by the cruise company shuttle bus for Ha Long Bay, one of the most spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Areas and the world’s largest marine limestone ‘karst’ landscape. There you will board your boat, a wooden junk built from the model of the old Vietnamese court vessels with sails, a wide transom and rectangular superstructure, that will take you first to the busy World Heritage area and then to some of the less well-known grottoes and caves. Weather permitting, you will be able to swim, fish, climb a hill for an overview of the Bay’s remarkable seascape, and do the kayaking into some of the sea level caves and secluded areas. All your meals will be provided on board, usually based on fresh seafood. Your overnight will be aboard.

     

    Day 11: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B)

    Participate in Tai Chi o­n the top deck or simply watch the sunrise over the magnificent bay. Enjoy your morning cup of coffee or juice before setting out to the near- by cave by row boat. Watch for monkeys high on the cliff tops. Return back to the junk, where breakfast is served, while sailing around Bay Tu Long bay where the movie “Indochine” was filmed. Your cruise will end at noon and you will be met by your driver for the transfer back to your hotel in Hanoi. Arrive to the hotel around 4pm and free time to rest or catch up on more sightseeing on your own. Overnight in Hanoi.

     

    Day 12: Hanoi – Departure (B)

    After breakfast in hotel, free time and transfer the airport for your departure flight. End of the trip.

    Value:

    With basic hotels and simple accommodation, this is a no frills option with an adventurous authentic feel. We would normally accommodate your in these in remote areas.


    Standard:

    Standard accommodation equates to a Western 3-star standard, always featuring en-suite rooms and usually a restaurant. Sometimes these are a good affordable choice in cities where accommodation is very expensive, but where being centrally located is a prime consideration.


    Superior:

    Superior accommodation equates to a Western 4-star standard, featuring en-suite rooms and usually a restaurant and often a swimming pool and/or a fitness centre. This is the 'classic' hotel standard we use on most of our group based tours.


    Deluxe:

    Deluxe accommodation equates to a Western 5-star standard, usually featuring spacious, en-suite rooms, a restaurant, swimming pool and fitness centre and an array of amenities, excellent service and customer care. India and Southeast Asia have a fabulous array of top notch 5-star properties.


    Luxury:

    Luxury accommodation equates to a Western 5-star plus standard - the creme de la creme. Featuring spacious, en-suite rooms, a restaurant, swimming pool and fitness centre and an array of amenities, this accommodation is a cut above the rest. Sheer opulence!


  • VIETNAM

    Visa and Passport
    Except for a number of ASEAN countries a visa is required to visit Vietnam. If your itinerary requires two
    entries into Vietnam then a double entry visa must be obtained. If your trip is postponed or delayed it may be necessary to obtain another visa if your original visa is not valid for your new dates of travel.

    Tourist Visa
    A Vietnam Tourist Visa is valid for the period of 30-days and for a single entry (unless endorsed for a double entry at additional cost). Your passport must be sent to the embassy along with payment with prepaid shipping arrangements with Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation, FedEx, etc., two completed visa applications and two passport photos. Allow five-business days for processing.

    Visa-on-Arrival
    A Visa-on-Arrival is available if you are pre-approved for the visa. In lieu of a stamped visa in your passport prior to departure a fax from the Department of Immigration is issued and used as your travel document for boarding your international flight to Vietnam. This system has been working for a number of years now and is extremely reliable. Visa-on-Arrival processing charges are normally $25 and a $45 fee is payable directly to Vietnamese Immigration upon arrival.

    Double Entry Visa
    A Double Entry Visa is a Tourist Visa endorsed for a double entry. If your itinerary requires a double entry be sure and obtain the Double Entry Visa.

    Re-Entry Visa
    Re-entry Visas, prior to departing Vietnam, are possible to obtain in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City through authorized agencies for a fee of approximately $25, however it requires one-to-two days and the deposit of your passport. This is not advisable unless your itinerary allows ample time and you remain in the city where the application was filed until the visa is issued. It is strongly advised to obtain a Double Entry Visa prior entering Vietnam.

    Passport Validity Dates
    Your passport must have a validity date of at least six-months remaining after your visit to Vietnam is completed.

    Travel Document Companies
    Unless you live nearby a Vietnamese embassy or consulate or are experienced in dealing with embassies by mail or telephone, it is advised that you use a travel document company to obtain your visa.

    Entry Procedures
    Arrival and Departure Cards are required to be completed upon entry into Vietnam; they will be provided by the airline or at the border gate. The yellow copy of the card will be returned to you and must be submitted when you depart Vietnam; keep it in a safe place. Making a photocopy of it is a good idea and keeping it with your other photocopies.
    If you have been pre-approved for a Visa-on-Arrival simply process though the Visa-on-Arrival lane at immigration.
    Once your visa formalities have been completed claim your baggage and process through customs.

    Duty Free
    One-carton of cigarettes and one bottle of liquor.

    Exit Procedures
    Complete the customs declaration and process through customs then complete the immigration processing where you will be required to return the yellow copy of your Arrival and Departure Card.

    Tendering Passports
    Vietnamese law requires that passports be tendered to the hotel each evening. This may appear odd to Western travelers but until the 1960's a number of European countries required that passports be tendered to the hotel each evening.

    Travel Insurance
    Traveler's Insurance is strongly recommended. A number of companies sell competing policies and it is a good idea to read the fine print and ask questions if you are in doubt. 
    Note: some insurance companies cover travel insurance in their existing policies; check, you may already be covered. Policies have differing benefits for trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and dental coverage, and emergency medical transportation, lost baggage, missed connections, and accidents.
    Of special note is the emergency medical transportation. This is extremely costly; if you any health condition which may require medical evacuation you should check to see if you are currently covered and if not purchase the insurance. Medical treatment, if required, can be costly and the pay is usually in cash.
